How To Upgrade Prusa Firmware
Introduction
Upgrading the firmware on your 3D printer is very important, and should be done regularly. Firmware upgrades contain bug fixes and sometimes even new features. If you want to get the most out of your Prusa 3D printer, I recommend upgrading. In this video tutorial I show you how to upgrade the firmware on your Prusa 3D printer. You will need to download Slic3r Prusa Edition to do this. The process will be the same on all models of the Prusa 3D printer.

Download Slic3r Prusa Edition - Step 1
To flash firmware onto the printer we will be using Slic3r Prusa Edition. Go to the link below and download the Drivers & Apps package. This will give you all the Prusa Software that you need. While you're there you might as well download the latest Firmware file too (3.6.0 at the time of writing this).

Flashing Firmware - Step 2
After installing Slic3r Prusa Edition, run the software. On the menu at the top, go to Configuration > Flash Printer Firmware, as shown below.
You should then see a window like the one below. For Firmware Image, browse for the firmware file that you downloaded from the Prusa website. The software should automatically detect the serial port assigned to your printer when you plug it into your computer.
That's it, hit Flash!
That's all there is to it. Hit the Flash button and your firmware upgrade will begin. You might hear the fans on your printer make some noise, this is completely normal!
